The NASA man from Mars is out
of sync. He lives life jet-lagged
from having to guide rovers
over timeless Martian crags
ticking to alien time.

There is no time
on the moon ’til we go there
and tame it to our zones
and needs.

and yearn. For I am a thing
out of time, my granddaughters’
grandda. Some grandmothers’
grandson.
